BIOGRAPHY
Karen Durand is a consummate musician who has been performing professionally for over 13 years. She is an accomplished vocalist, keyboard player and bass guitarist who has had extensive experience with many bands and duos throughout the Hunter region. She has worked with a variety of artists including Jack Jones, Debra Byrne and Marcia Hines, with duo and trio experience including performing with Break Even, Rich and Famous, Slim Jim and The City Slickers and Room for two
Karen has also toured as a popular solo artist throughout Singapore, Malaysia and Japan. Her vocal versatility is well known and encompasses a variety of styles from power ballads, rock and funk to country and old time. As jazz is her forte, this has allowed her to successfully perform with such bands as the Cotton Club Swing Band and Blue Trane. It is this amazing versatility and years of solid experience in the industry which makes Karen an outstanding solo performer catering for everything from dinner music right through to dance venues, mixed with perfect sensitivity for weddings or lounges. With a repertoire containing a contemporary mix for a younger crowd right through to dance music spanning over 50 years, Karen is always the perfect choice for any venue, function or corporate event.
